About Us

The Asian Pacific American Leadership Foundation (formerly the Asian Pacific American Leadership Project) was founded in 2004 as a non-partisan, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization designed to help prepare and better equip Asian Pacific American (APA) leaders for public service and civic involvement.

MISSION STATEMENT

Engage the Asian Pacific American (APA) community in active civic participation by creating, supporting, building and strengthening the local community infrastructure to help prepare and train qualified APA leaders for public service.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

  • Encourage APAs to be active and become leaders in their local communities, and beyond.
  • Provide APA leaders with the tools and skills to make contributions to American civic life.
  • Train leaders and future APA leaders for public service including elected and appointed public office.
  • Serve as a resource to APA public officials and community organizations.

The California Asian Leadership Network of ElecTeds (CALNET) is a statewide network of Asian Pacific American (APA) elected and appointed officials dedicated to the training, advancement and empowerment of APA leaders in public service. CALNET provides a unique opportunity for APA public officials at all levels of government to connect, build relationships and share best practices. CALNET is a program formed, conceived and operated by the Asian Pacific American Leadership Foundation (APALF).
